Issue #2

Even though we were planning to get the second issue out sometime around
the 20th of Feb, we pretty much changed our minds when we found out how
many hits the site received. It was truely an unprecedented event. Even
I never expected Hack In The Box to become anything more than a
mini-project that perhaps a few people visited in a month. How wrong I
was.
Anyhow,
Issue #2 looks to be a lot more technical than the first one, since I've

In
a flash I jumped screaming and crashing out the plate glass window of
the speeding bus doing a paratrooper roll to break my fall as I landed
on the wayside in a cloud of dust. I got onto my shaky feet again and
tried vehemently to regain my lost composure by doggedly chanting my mantra:

Alright,
this is really a lame ass topic actually, and this information has possibly
been available since UNIX was first developed, but anyhow, it's a lot
of fun especially when dealing with people that don't really know much
about the Internet and networks. Definitely a good prank! :)

Here
I am again to rambling about what's in my funky ass mind! I'll just start
off here quoting a line from Ozzy Osborne, "Of all the things I've
lost, I miss my mind the most!" There we go! Nothing like a quote
from Ozzy to get things started!Work
the one thing in life, which I guess will always be there no matter what,
well even when you die, someone will be doing it for you. Not to mention
when you retire, some small fart will have to do it for you with smaller

Firstly, a little background information for those of you who don't have
a clue what ports are.

When
you're dealing with UNIX systems, or actually any computer connected to
the Internet or a large network, there are a large number of programs
running at once. When you telnet to a host, you're usually connecting
to the system via a TCP layer which is running on port 23. Most of the
time the program that is running is telnetd which just serves telnet connections.

Beer, cigarettes, and friends

The
three things in life which will never cease to amaze me. My life revolves
around these three things which I guess will never run dry. Well beer will always be produced as long as people like my friends and
me get together, when we say that we want to just sit down and have a
beer and chat! But you soon be as drunk as a prawn to even notice that
you have had 8 jugs! But beers do actually quench your thirst when you
are thirsty, imagine a hot Sunday afternoon and you're sweating from all
