Issue #1

Well
it's finally here... The first issue of Hack In The Box. Hopefully
this will be a bimonthly or a monthly publication.

Those
of you familiar with the very well known works of Phrack Magazine, HiR,
and perhaps even 2600 mag, will probably notice the similarities between
HITB and the above mentioned. The goals of HITB are very simple : To spread
knowledge that hopefully keep hacking/phreaking information as well as
information in general free for those that wish to obtain it (that's you)

We're
hoping to come to a point where all the articles published are purely
H/P related. However, being that this is the first issue, and we're extremely
short of people, the first issue will not be entirely about H/P. Most
of the articles in the current and upcoming issues shall be about hacking,
phreaking, exploration of systems, phone networks and pretty much anything
computer/electronic related.

Our
e-mail account is hitb@thelimit.net
- All writers/contributors can be contacted via their personal e-mail
addresses (if published).

Editor, site maintainer, writer, coder... I basically code in C,
C++, a little bit of HTML... I currently write networking and hardware
articles for a magazine, as well as for an online webzine. Apart from
that I also do network audits, answer people's (sometimes stupid questions)
and basically just chill. Oh yeah, and I hate Microsoft. *grin*

HITB is looking for writers. If you are interested in being listed as one of
the writers, e-mail an article to us! Try to keep the articles to H/P
only. Considering the fact that we're particularly short of people, the
likelihood of your article being published is extremely high. After three
of your articles are published, you're qualified to be listed under the
members section instead of the "Guests" one. Interested? E-mail
us at : hackintheboxx@hotmail.com

Due
to shortage of time - I'm currently working full time on a "real
magazine" as well as doing the odd network auditing work, I didn't
have the time to format the articles into ASCII text format, but I'm hoping
that most of you
are using browsers that can handle frames.
