Hacker Stickers giving away free stickers!

Source: Hacker Stickers

Hackerstickers.com is giving away free stickers to webmasters, bloggers and site junkies who place one of their links on their websites. You don't pay any postage or handling, no fee's no costs, just add one of the links to your web page and fill out the request form, choose your sticker and the color and submit it! I'd strongly recommend the HITB Stickers that they carry -- but then again, I would say that wouldn't I? *grin*

reaper: On the 15th of April, users will no longer be able to use /server irc.relic.net to connect to our IRC server. However, users will be able to use /server ircd.relic.net to connect to our servers directly. We are doing this to discourage bots and to provide our users with a more stable network. If you have any questions, please contact an oper in our network channel #hackinthebox. Thank you ...

Adrian Lamo helps fix HITB security bug

Much love to good-guy hacker (I love that term!), Adrian Lamo for coming forward with information regarding a programming oversight in HITB's Messaging Centre code. The bug creates an arbitary message read vulnerability which would allow for an attacker to read messages outside of his/her inbox. For those of you that have downloaded this code, the bug is on line 205 inside the replyto function. The line should be changed from:

$result = mysql_query("SELECT subject, message FROM messages WHERE id='$id'");

L33tdawg: I got this in an anonymous e-mail today. Certainly quite interesting to say the least. I do wonder what @Stake and Mixter have to say, so if either Mixter or anyone from @Stake is reading this -- please post your comments. We're all listening.

Issue #31

Hey guys, thought I'd leave everyone with a brand new zine just before I got traipsing off on my vacation. Yes yes it is a little late, but I'm sure you guys will be pleased to know that SOTHA #8 is included in this months line up along with several other tasty little bits. As you may have noticed, we've stopped publishing our e-zine every month, and instead opted to go the route of Phrack, and publish only when we've got enough material that's worth publishing in the first place. For those of you that would like to have your name in digital print we'd like to hear from you.

New HITB function: Top 10 Search Strings

posted onSeptember 14, 2002
by hitbsecnews

Hey guys, well I was feeling a little bored this morning, and was thinking of things I could add to make life a little easier for everyone. So, I came up with an idea of listing the Top 10 searched phrases or keywords on the HITB search engine. I'm guessing it'll serve a dual purpose in drawing attention to articles and/or issues that are still of interest to most people as well as serve as a way for us to understand you guys better and what type of content you'd like to read up on.
