Happy 2006 to everyone, especially to the German Customs who had a fine time watching the DVD videos of HITBSecConf2005 which we sent over to Sweden. Although we did promise to have the DIVX videos of HITBSecConf2005 ready for download during the Christmas holidays, the videos ended up getting stuck in Germany, where the customs clearance for the package took a staggering 10 days! To think that we sent the shipment via DHL's International courier service expecting the shipment to arrive in 3 days, only to have it take over 2 WEEKS instead!

Xbox 360 hack is back

CRACKERS HAVE already discovered a method of illegally adding MP3 storage capacity to Microsoft's super soaraway Xbox 360.

The Xbox as it ships does not let you load MP3s onto it, probably as part of a deal between Vole and the music biz. However according to this 'ere site, making the machine do what Vole doesn't want you to do is dead easy. All you need is a a hard drive of your choice and a USB 2.0 to ATA adaptor.

After a bit of juggling you can load content to the drive via windows. Plug it into your 360 and go to media and select portable device and it's all there.

Yes we've finally had to upgrade our backend system and move to a more robust platform. While Thatware has certainly been an excellent CMS, and provided for us much longer than we expected it was written during the days of PHP3 and a lot of features that are now part of the PHP engine itself had to be developed by hand. Further to this there are just too many features we would like to add on but Thatware is unable to support this without an entire code rewrite.

Happy New Year everyone! Although we were initially hoping to get the e-zine out in time for xmas, we decided to delay the release by a couple of days as a mark of respect to the thousands who have lost their lives and to those who have been affected by the earthquake/tsunami disaster of December 26th 2004.
