HITB 2.0 - HITB Reloaded

Yes we've finally had to upgrade our backend system and move to a more robust platform. While Thatware has certainly been an excellent CMS, and provided for us much longer than we expected it was written during the days of PHP3 and a lot of features that are now part of the PHP engine itself had to be developed by hand. Further to this there are just too many features we would like to add on but Thatware is unable to support this without an entire code rewrite. We hope that the move to Postnuke will help create a better experience for everyone....

As part of the upgrade process we have cleaned out the entire user database -- that's right, we removed all 52,000++ members that we had listed. This was mainly a clean-up excercise seeing that most of the accounts have not been verified since we started using Thatware back in June of 2000. As such we kindly request all members who are interested in preserving their 'online identities' to re-register once again.

We anticipate to move over 100% to this new platform by the 1st week of July. As such if you have any private messages or other sidebox settings (perhaps a list of your most frequented sites) please make backups before then. The exsisting Thatware version of HITB will be preserved for posterity and as a tribute to David Norman and the Thatware team for their coding kung-foo :) The site will have its new home at http://thatware.hackinthebox.org

A big thank you to everyone who has supported HITB all these years and we look forward to many more!
