Saurik has recently announced the next version of cydia, that is, cydia 1.1. This version is slimmer, faster and more stable than the earlier version. One of the much awaited feature is the ability to run the application in background which is now available with this update. It means that you can now resume from the same place exactly where you left off.

The just released iOS 4.3.1 firmware update for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch has been successfully jailbroken, courtesy of some swift work by DjayB6 on iOS 4.3.1 jailbreak bundle, and Universal Ramdisk Fixer. The jailbreak though is tethered only for now, which means that you will have to boot it into jailbroken state every time you reboot.

Support for iPhone 3GS and iPod touches is on the way ! Simply follow the instructions below to jailbreak iOS 4.3.1 on iPhone 4 using a combination of PwnageTool 4.2, Universal Ramdisk Fixer and tetheredboot utility. Here’s what you will need:

Motorola has been a strong manufacturer of Android devices. It helped Android gain commercial success when it released the first Droid smartphone in 2009. Dave Eurica, a Canadian reader of the online version of The New York Times, was rather annoyed to find that the website was blocking him from reading a lot of articles. He looked into the matter and found that the "paywall" erected by the publication was written in JavaScript. This means the blocked articles are actually being loaded up in the HTML in the back.

Baidu plans to develop a light operating system for mobile devices, its chief executive has indicated, a strategy in which China’s leading internet search company would once again follow Google.

Over the coming three to five years, the company aimed to create software which offered use of a web search box within a second of starting their smartphone or tablet computer, Robin Li told the Financial Times.

GNU Free Call - An Open Source Skype Alternative

The GNU Project has announced a new project called GNU Free Call, an open source Skype alternative that will offer anonymous VoIP and will use the GNU SIP Witch server as the back end:

Adobe releases Flash Player 10.2 for Android

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER Adobe has released Flash Player 10.2 for the Android operating system.

Adobe's latest release of its Flash Player 10.2 software is the first major release since the software made its debut on the Android Market last year. The firm is claiming performance improvements and deeper integration with Android's web browser.
