One of the major new features of the iPhone 4S is Siri, the voice controlled assistant which lets you operate various functions of the phone simply by talking to it.

However, there are a couple of points to be wary of when it comes to Siri. The first being that the system isn’t actually fully implemented in the UK, with no localised provider yet signed up for location-based information such as asking Siri where the nearest Indian restaurant is.

A research team from the Georgia Institute of Technology says it has discovered a keyboard keylogger attack that can be done through a compromised Apple iPhone.

The attack relies on exploiting the iPhone accelerometer technology. "The accelerometer helps you figure out the orientation of the device," says Patrick Traynor, assistant professor in Georgia Tech's School of Computer Science. "It will adjust what's in the screen and you can use it to turn your phone to play games."

Planted in your shiny new iPhone 4s and in the iOS 5 are the seeds of tomorrow’s Mac of the future, and indeed the future of all computers. You can find them if you know where to look. (And I’ll tell you where below.)

In the Microsoft world, at least, new technology starts at the top and “trickles down” from bigger and more powerful computers over time to mobile devices and eventually cell phones. If you’re focused on the machines, this makes sense, as larger computers are more capable of handling powerful new features.
