Siri security flaw on iPhone 4S

One of the major new features of the iPhone 4S is Siri, the voice controlled assistant which lets you operate various functions of the phone simply by talking to it.

However, there are a couple of points to be wary of when it comes to Siri. The first being that the system isn’t actually fully implemented in the UK, with no localised provider yet signed up for location-based information such as asking Siri where the nearest Indian restaurant is.

The second is a more serious security matter, which is that Siri comes with a default setting that grants access to your locked iPhone. So even if you’ve set up a passcode on your device, anyone can bypass that lock simply by holding down the Home button to activate Siri, then send an embarrassing text via voice dictation.
