Azerbaijan airline websites, TV station hit by cyber attack

Hackers calling themselves the “Iranian Cyber Army” and “Cocaine Warriors from Persia” have hit the websites of Azerbaijan’s national airline AZAL and television station AzTV, the second such attack on Azeri state portals, officials said Thursday.

Last month, “Azerian Cyber Army” hackers hit about 20 Azeri state bodies’ websites, posting images of the devil over photos of the Azeri and Israeli presidents, and messages saying “Servants of Jews” and “Enemies of Islam.”

Alleged Accomplice of Accused Cable-Modem Hacker Testifies Against Him

The alleged accomplice of an accused cable-modem hacker testified in court on Wednesday that the suspect taught him how to pirate cable service using hacked firmware and cloned MAC addresses.

Craig Phillips, a former business partner of accused cable-modem hacker Robert Harris, told a Boston jury that Harris taught him how to use hacked firmware to “uncap” cable modems and use the firmware with cloned MAC addresses to steal cable service.

Hackers Target Sony Australia, Hit Reseller Instead

The local domain sonyvaio.com.au has been hacked and a defacement page posted claiming credit for the attack. A Malaysian-based group bragged on a since-removed Facebook post, “W00t SONY VAIO Australia hacked.” However, Gizmodo AU checked whois records and found the domain actually belongs to TX Computer Solutions, an authorised Sony reseller.

Hackers come in all shapes and sizes, and so do the devices they toil away on to try to gain some sort of Internet fame or just personal satisfaction. In that context, the Nook Touch isn’t exactly the place for a hotbed of hacking activity but someone has still managed to pull off an exploit that’s pretty interesting. The hack involves exponentially increasing the e-reader’s refresh rate.

Anonymous hackers have issued a statement claiming to have found child pornography on the Los Angeles Police Canine Association website.

Anonymous hackers "CabinCr3w" targeted the Los Angeles Police Canine Association's website and posted a statement and the stolen data on Pastebin. In it the Anon - the name Anonymous members use to define themselves - claimed to have discovered pornographic images of children on one officer's email account.
