Hackers Get Windows Mobile 6.1 Running Inside Windows Phone

Unless you’re feeling nostalgic, you probably won’t want to get Windows Mobile 6.1 running on your HTC HD7. Alas, a YouTube video has appeared courtesy of the Dark Forces Team, showing off the ancient OS prancing around the confines of Windows Phone. Yes, Windows Mobile inside Windows Phone, Inception style.
The bit of technical wizardry is apparently being referred to as “WML,” though no details of the project have been made public. It’s an interesting bit of hackery and just goes to show how incredibly different Windows Phone is today. Support for Windows Mobile 6.5 is supposedly in the works as well, so stay tuned for that if you’re at all interested in taking your device back in time.
