While the recording industry has tried to take down digital music sites one at a time, it would seem for every one that is shot down, two more are there to take its place. The digital floodgates are open, and I don't see them closing anytime soon.

A few years ago, before all the lawsuits and music industry debates, Napster was probably the most talked about site on the web. Yesterday, German media giant Bertelsmann agreed to acquire Napster in a deal that will keep the controversial file-sharing service alive for the near future. The site was sold for a mere $8 million!

The last version, 2.6, went on to become one of the most successful P2P applications by providing an astounding amount of search results and successful downloads.
