Napster files for bankruptcy protection

Napster Inc., the embattled Internet music upstart that is selling its assets to German media firm Bertelsmann
AG, said Monday it has filed for
bankruptcy protection.
The Redwood City, Calif.-based company filed under Chapter
11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code with the U.S. Bankruptcy
Court in Delaware.
