Dedicated followers of Apple, who protect their computers by chanting a mantra which claims "only Windows users get viruses" are being suckered in their droves by a new slice of malware on Facebook.

While they are on Facebook they are being asked to click on what looks like a link to news entitled "First Exposure: iPhone 5." The link points to a web address which promises to tell you the latest news about the coming shiny iPhone 5 and points you to a Web address of "greatlakesnews.info."

Some Apple fans won't like our story about Mac malware going from a game to something more serious. But scowling over the details won't make a painful reality go away.

The reality being that -- contrary to popular opinion among Apple fans -- Macs have never been superior to Windows boxes from a security standpoint. True, Mac users have enjoyed almost clear sailing as hackers put all their firepower into attacking Microsoft machines. The technology with the fattest market share will always be target number-one.

Apple is sitting on a massive cash reserve totalling $65.8 billion. Enough cash for the company to be able to operate until 2018 even if it decided to stop selling everything. So, what should Apple do with this cash? Put it all on red? Move its HQ to the moon? Buy us all (and I do mean all of us … everyone on the planet) a few beers? Or what peeling off a few bills and buy up a security firm and giving all Mac OS and iOS users access to free security tools?

DIY repair site iFixit has pulled apart the new 21.5" iMac that Apple began shipping yesterday. While the exterior and much of the interior remains largely the same, a few differences have been discovered—including the fact that the GPU is now on a potentially upgradable, removable board.

Like previous generations of aluminum iMacs, the front glass panel is held in with magnets; behind it is the LCD panel screwed into the chassis. iFixit noted that the LG panel in its sample of the 21.5" iMac is identical to the previous generation.

Jailbreaking your iPhone is a legal and incredibly useful way to customize your iPhone, alter its functionality, and download apps Apple hasn't approved for sale in the App Store.

The iPhone Dev Team as well as legions of other hackers around the world have made it very easy to jailbreak using tools like PwnageTool, Sn0wbreeze, and Redsn0w. Cydia, the jailbreak app store, is super easy to use and enables you to download just about anything with a few taps.

Strong evidence of Apple's upcoming iCloud service has been found in the form of a feature hidden within in a developer build of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion that allows a MobileMe account to be migrated to a codenamed "Castle" service.
