Apple is keen on eliminating antenna woes in its products, even ones you may not even realize had antennas in the first place. A new patent win for the Cupertino giant illustrates a method for integrating a cellular antenna into MacBook and iMac keyboards, specifically by placing antennas under some keyboard keys.

According to Patently Apple, this is Apple’s fourth cellular-based MacBook-related patent over the past year and the second to deal with disguising the cellular antenna itself. Could we be seeing a 3G or 4G-capable MacBook in the future?

If you answered no to the first question and yes to the second, then this post is meant for you. You are doing it wrong, and on behalf of everyone everywhere, please stop. Why do I say that? Look no farther than the e-mail we received this morning...

It appears that at one time Apple was exploring 3G-capable MacBook Pros. eBay seller Abhw752579 has listed a prototype 2007 Santa Rosa MacBook Pro with an integrated 3G antenna built in to the LCD screen. The eBay seller is not the original owner or the machine, but bought it from someone on Craigslist who was selling the laptop "for parts."

If you use an iPad or iPhone then you will be familiar with the way in which the Launchpad – an important new element of Mac OS X Lion – affords control over apps on your computer.

Just as an iPad will display a view of all your applications as icons, so the Launchpad echoes the iPad home screen and allows you to create folders by dragging icons together and discard them when necessary.

Those who travel to China know that fakes—fake iPhones, fake watches, fake Louis Vuitton bags—are everywhere. But while it's easy for the average American to find counterfeit products, most of the Western world has been blissfully unaware of entire counterfeit stores—until recently, that is.

Here's an interesting – if cautionary – tale of how an Apple store in Canada apparently refused to hand back a stolen iPhone to a woman, despite police and Apple's database as confirming the hardware was registered to her.

According to the CTV British Columbia newswire, Nicky Olsen's iPhone was stolen at a party late last year and she reported the theft to the police. Recently, the newswire says, Olsen had an email from the Richmond Apple store saying her missing phone was in for repairs.
