NVidia announces nForce!

NVidia has announced today the long-awaited nForce chipset with integrated graphics for
motherboards. The same architecture of the chipset is utilized in XBOX console. There are no
other products intended for mainstream PCs in the market, which can compete with nForce in
terms of speed and funtionality: this chipset seems to be a very powerful and well-balanced
architecture.

RADEON2 to be demonstrated this week

News has it that ATI is going to demonstrate
new cards, based on R200 and RV200 chipsets this week at Computex, Taiwan. The
demonstration is going to take place only only for limited ammount of people. I think that those
people will mainly be from taiwanese videocards manufacturers, which are interested in making ATI
based boards. So, at this demonstration ATI will show the potential of RADEON 2 to attract

ATI has unveiled a new business strategy that will see the Company enter into manufacturing and
distribution partnerships with leading original design manufacturers (ODMs) and add-in board
manufacturers (AIBs) - a move that will significantly increase sales and distribution penetration of
ATI chip technologies worldwide. Practically that means ATI will now let third party manufacturers
to make cards based on chips developed by ATI.

IBM has announced a new innovation in hard drive technology that shatters what many in the industry saw as an unbreakable barrier.

In each of the past five years, hard drive capacities have doubled, keeping storage costs low and allowing technophiles and PC users to sock away more data. However, storage buffs believed the rate of growth could continue for only so long, and many asserted that the storage industry was about to hit the physical limit for higher capacities. But according to IBM, a new innovation will push back that limit.
