Google hits coder G-spot with Linux command line tool

Google has introduced a command line utility for accessing various Chocolate Factory services, including YouTube, Blogger, Google Docs, Calender, and Contacts. And an army of text-interface obsessives have responded with glee.

"I love you!!" one coder told Google. "This couldn't be better!!"

"Ooh, I hope it's not April 1 today. *calendar check* Wow, nope!" said another. "There goes my Friday evening."

"Effin amazing" said a third.

hunderbird 3.0 was a less than stellar piece of software. Mozilla's email client was marred by some pretty serious bugs, such as the failure to import mail from past editions, which meant the suite had a habit of becoming unresponsive while indexing large mail stores.

We have some exciting news for PS3 owners, as it has been revealed that Sony are planning to release another Firmware Update for the PS3, it will be available next week to download.

As reported from TheGamerAccess, it looks as if the new Firmware Update, v.3.40 will be needed for those of you planning to subscribe to Playstation Plus – the company’s new pricing platform. According to Sony’s PS Plus press release, the new firmware update will be available on June 22nd – next Tuesday.

Adobe knocks Apple for serving up outdated Flash Player

Apple on Tuesday patched 28 vulnerabilities in is Snow Leopard operating system, including two in Adobe's Flash Player. But in another example of the tension between the two companies -- sparked by Apple CEO Steve Jobs' rejection of Flash as slow, buggy and obsolete -- Adobe immediately countered by noting that Apple's Flash fixes were already outdated.

CERT Releases New Fuzz Tester

Carnegie Mellon University's Computer Emergency Response Team (or CERT) has released a new fuzzing framework that will help identify and eliminate security vulnerabilities from different kinds of software.

The fuzz testers are used by security researchers to find vulnerabilities by sending random input to an application. Fuzz testing has been popular among hackers, but with the release of this framework, CERT can push businesses to subject all software to fuzz testing.

Google’s Chrome OS is expected this autumn

Following the direction of new netbook and tablet PC announcements at Computex 2010, Google has come forward with an update on its web-centric operating system for portable devices.

Google’s VP of product management Sundar Pichai confirmed Chrome OS will be on the market this autumn of 2010.

Chrome OS was announced nearly a year ago. It is a lightweight operating system built around Google’s Chrome browser. Like other Linux-based platforms, it will be available for free, allowing hardware vendors to avoid licensing costs.
