Issue #22

Well, it's been a long month, and quite a fair number of things have happened since Issue #21... Firstly, we're proud to announce that we've finally launched hackinthebox.net the business solutions and network security services side of HITB! We've been meaning to get this done like ages ago, but have always been putting it off - eitherways, we've finally gotten the team together, and we've got the ball rolling so to speak.

Editor's Note: While this article isn't technically slanted, nor something we normally publish in our e-zine, it was just too funny to pass up...

Why go into the office when you could 'be there' from home? Sitting in the comfort of your favorite pair of shorts, hair in a bedraggled state, teeth un-brushed and face unwashed. It’s not like anyone can see you right? Telecommuting has become more and more popular in the past couple of years, what with broadband proliferation and what not, more workers are choosing to stay home as opposed to battling the rush hour traffic just to get to their 4 x 6’ cubicle.

Introduction
------------

While Fragmentation has been every hacker's wet dream, it is a nightmare for
Intrusion Detection System, packet filters, and routers. Techniques on how
fragmentation has been used to evade IDS are documented everywhere, and
fragmentation has been used as an effective method to penetrate a network's
perimeter defenses, especially firewall that does not support stateful packet
inspection.

Issue #21

Well with all the chaos going on over the past week, I'm just happy we managed to get this issue out without too much delay. We were actually going to get madsaxon to write us yet another SOTHA, but I think with the current situation in the US, he's tied up with work, and was unable to get the article to us in time. Anyways, we still managed to round up enough material to put a zine out - it sure as hell ain't our best one ever, but it should keep everyone entertained at least for a while. Enjoy.
