Vatican confirms Anonymous has attacked for the second time
The Vatican has confirmed that its website has suffered a second attack in a little under six days however declined to comment further on the event.
The Anonymous hacker collective claimed responsibility for the attack on Monday, which cut off access to the Vatican website for several hours and also tampered with data on the Vatican Radio computer system.
Anonymous claims that the attack was justified simply because the Vatican Radio system's powerful transmitters, located in the countryside outside Rome, constitutes a health risk to people living in the area. The group had the following to say in a message posted on Pastebin.com:
"Unfortunately it is a well-known fact that you use transmitters with a transmission capacity that greatly exceeds the legal limits, and it is also a sad fact that exposure to electromagnetic waves of high intensity is connected to the development of serious neoplastic diseases such as leukemia and cancer," the group said in a message posted on pastebin.com.
