Anonymous takes down Nissan in dolphin culling protest

 Hacker group Anonymous has admitted it took down Nissan's global and Japanese websites as a protest against Japanese dolphin culling.

Anonymous announced responsibility of the DDoS attack via its Twitter account, saying: "#Anonymous #OpKillingBay .@NissanJP nissan.co.jp #TangoDown #Japan stop the killing now!" with a photo montage of dolphins and Nissan cars.

Anonymous leaks personal data hacked from UN climate site

The United Nations confirmed Thursday reports that activist group Anonymous leaked personal data from some 1,400 people using its climate website, as the world gathered in Paris to craft a climate rescue pact.

"I can confirm there was a hacking incident earlier this week and that has been handled by the conference's IT security experts," said UN climate secretariat spokesman Nick Nuttall, who declined to make any further comment.

A group associated with Anonymous has reportedly hacked an alleged Islamic State supporter website and replaced it with a message to chill out and an advertisement for an online pharmacy.

It's been reported IS and IS supporter websites are moving their websites onto the dark web in an attempt to stay protected and hidden online.

The infamous hacktivist group Anonymous has delivered on its threat of doxing members of the Ku Klux Klan, publishing a list of hundreds of names of alleged members of the racist group on Thursday.

A Twitter account believed to be controlled by hackers behind the operation tweeted a link to a Pastebin containing a detailed list of names and their affiliation with local KKK groups, and links to the alleged members’ social media profiles as part of its “OpKKK.”

Last week, hackers claiming to be affiliated with the hacktivist group Anonymous (as well as alone vigilante) threatened to publish personal information and “dox” members of the racist group the Ku Klux Klan.

Over the weekend, the hackers delivered on their promises. An Anonymous-affiliated group called YourAntiSec, in reference to a famous hacking operation launched by the Anonymous offshoot LulzSec in the summer of 2011, published a list of phone numbers and email addresses that they claim belong to members and admins of KKK websites.

Anonymous hackers threaten to take down Irish government's IT system as revenge for water charges

The Irish Government says it has “several security systems” in place to deal with an 'Anonymous' hacking group threatening to infiltrate the Dail’s IT system.

A message to the Irish government, posted on the ‘Anonymous Ireland expect us’ Facebook page, says it plans to “take down” the encrypted IT systems next month.

It claims it will then steal highly sensitive information and distribute it to the public free of charge. The threatening post says the group’s target is “Dail Eireann”, while warning that “All Dail’s information will be free to you.”

Barrett Brown sentenced to 63 months for 'merely linking to hacked material'

66-Years-Old Rocker Arrested For Involvement in 2010 Anonymous DDoS Attack

A 66-years-old British rock guitarist received a jail sentence for joining the Anonymous hacker collective in the organized distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks in 2010 against various institutions and organizations in the US.

Dubbed Operation Payback, the attacks aimed at different organizations that opposed the activities of WikiLeaks, as well as financial institutions.
