Slashdot - To Subscribe or not?
Slashdot appears to be going to a subscription based service. They are giving 1000 page views for $5US. But what are you paying for? NO ADS.
Thats right! Slashdot is asking people to pay to read their page without ads. Apparently, instead of having just the banner ads like so many other sites on the internet do, they are going to the quarter page ads because "that is what the advertisers want".
Thankfully, HITB hasn't done this. However, I think l33tdawg should give us a place to throw our money into the pot. Personally, I use Slashdot enough that I didn't have second thoughts about giving up $5 of my pocket change. How about a simple easy place to do the same for HITB? There is probably already a place to do this, but get the info back up again.

L33tdawg: Actually I've looked into hooking us up with either a PayPal account or the Amazon Honor System, unfortunately, both of these aren't available to people living in Malaysia (read l33tdawg), so it was a pretty dead ended search. I guess the only way we'd be able to take donations would be through direct bank to bank transfers, or a cheque. Now I'm sure a helluva lot of you out there aren't in the least bit interested in writing a cheque for 5 bucks now are you? On to the shirts -- yes, we haven't gotten enough orders yet, however, I've found a printer here that can handle the silk screening process, and we're looking into printing some different designs here, which should make the price of the shirts even cheaper than they already are! Will let you guys know more once the designs are done.
