Nokia has lost an appeal against Ipcom with the patent holder pushing for an injunction.

Nokia had lost a case brought by Ipcom over the infringement of 3G patents in the UK High Court last year. Nokia went to the London Court of Appeal, which also sided with Ipcom, which said it will ask for damages and a sales injunction against Nokia.

Bernhard Frohwitter, MD of Ipcom said, "The ruling of the UK Appeal Court once again confirms that our patent #100a was infringed by Nokia in the UK - a jurisdiction well-known for being very tough on patent validity and infringement. This ruling is a huge win for intellectual property in general and it is the third successful ruling from our patent family #100, after similar rulings in Germany."
