As someone who spends a lot of time with smartphones, I often get asked, "Hey Ron, what Android phone should I buy?" The high-end answer is usually easy: buy a Pixel phone. But not everyone is willing to shell out $650+ for a smartphone, especially the types of casual users that ask for advice. Beyond the flagship smartphones, things get more difficult within the Android ecosystem.
In November 2014, Microsoft said that "there will be Windows 10 upgrades for all Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices" - a fairly unequivocal statement that leaves no doubt that all of the company's devices released with WP8 onwards would be upgraded. But details now provided by Microsoft on its website suggest that availability of Windows 10 Mobile will be limited to only certain devices - at least at first.

Nokia, once the world's biggest maker of mobile phones, plans to start designing and licensing handsets again once an agreement with partner Microsoft allows it to in 2016, its chief executive told Germany's Manager Magazin.

Microsoft has started to push out updates that will re-brand the Nokia apps that are on your Windows Phone. An app, for example, previously called Nokia Cinemagraph, is now called Lumia Cinemagraph.
These updates should not come as a surprise as we fully expect Microsoft to slowly transition over the entire Nokia portfolio into its own branding.
