Brit MP says hackers threatened her kids
A conservative member of British Parliament who had urged shutting down social networks during the riots says hacking groups made threats against her children.
Louise Mensch, in a post on Twitter from New York Monday, said the groups Anonymous and LulzSec made the threats in an e-mail, The Guardian reported. She did not provide specifics but said the threats were designed to keep her from using the network, as she does often.
"Had some morons from Anonymous/Lulzsec threaten my children via email," her Twitter message said. "As I'm in the States, be good to have somebody from the UK police advise me where I should forward the email." Mensch, who is vacationing in New York, said later she had reported the threats to police in the House of Commons, which referred questions to Scotland Yard. Scotland Yard said it was investigating.
