Hacker group LulzSec has identified and released private information about the names of two individuals that might have led to the arrest of a 19-year-old U.K. man suspected of being a member of the group.
Mischief makers LulzSec say they have downed the website of the UK's Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca).
The site www.soca.gov.uk disappeared completely from the web this afternoon and is now timing out regularly although is occasionally accessible. The site appears to be the victim of a DDoS attack.
LulzSec, the mischief-making bunch of hackers, slackers and whackos has fallen victim to its own sort of tactics, with a blog appearing on the world-wide wibble aiming to expose those behind the outfit's antics.
The blog lulzsecexposed.blogspot.com exposes some of the identities of known or suspected 'members' of the group and contains a load of IRC chat logs between suspected Lulzers.
They called it Titanic Takeover Tuesday. Over the course of several hours on 14 June, the hacker group Lulzsec orchestrated distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks against three online games – Minecraft, Eve Online and League of Legends – as well as the gaming news site, Escapist.
