Maxtor chooses Win2K over FreeBSD

Maxtor's new file server/storage sytem hybrid system the MaxAttach4000 used to run FreeBSD
but Maxtor has since switched to Windows 2000. The reasons are pretty clear, lack of hardware
support, among other things as well as FreeBSD doesnt support the large file sizes the new
storage system needs. It's been years since open source operating systems have been in the
limelight and yet there are still many reasons why Microsoft is chosen by high end companies.

There's a story talking about HP ditching WinCE for Linux on their Jornada handhelds. As cool as that would be, I'm gonna seriously doubt that its gonna happen. But if they did, I'd definetely have to get myself one. Actually I think it would be cooler to get a Compaq Ipaq and have Linux run on that. It just looks better.

This is taken from ZDNet:

"Extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography will allow computer makers to draw smaller circuits onto chips than current lithographic techniques. EUV light has a short wavelength, which allows chipmakers to project extremely intricate circuit patterns onto silicon wafers. Chips made by the EUV process are set to come out in 2005 and run at 10GHz"

Things are looking bad for ATi over on the mobile front with nVidia making an entry to what was once an ATi stronghold. There may or may not be much use in clicking this link here to see the full article courtesy of CHIP.de since it happens to be all in German. Overall, it just looks like nVidia has a winner in the new GeForce2 Go.
