A new report out of China claims that Apple has contracted with Taiwan's Chipbond Science and Technology to build fingerprint sensors into its next-generation iPhone.

The details were reported on Monday by China Times, which claimed that the so-called "iPhone 5S" will include both a fingerprint sensor and a near-field communications chip for mobile payments. The two items are expected to work in concert with one another, allowing users to easily authorize a transaction with their fingerprint.

Behind The Scenes Of The iPhone 5 Jailbreak

Technically speaking, the iPhone 5 is already jailbroken. You’re just not allowed to have it yet. The reason for this is because one of the bugs that contributes to a functional jailbreak is so good, that the hackers who discovered it would rather hang on to it while looking for another to replace it, instead of releasing it out into the wild where Apple could learn of the exploit, and patch it. Plus, iOS 6.1 is on the horizon, so they definitely don’t want to release the bug before then.

BlackBerrify your iPhone with Spike keyboard case

No one likes typing on a touch screen. So what if your iPhone case had a very mini QWERTY keyboard?

That's just what Spike from SoloMatrix is designed to be. When we heard about it last year, the Spike TypeSmart keyboard was part of a Kickstarter campaign that proved successful.

The tactile keyboard swivels out from its case and its keys make contact with the iPhone's on-screen keyboard. It doesn't require separate charging, docking, or an app, and it works with capacitive conductivity through the screens on the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5.

A U.S. federal agency has reneged on its plans to ditch the BlackBerry in favor of iPhones -- at least, to a degree -- after it announced that it would give Research in Motion's next-generation BlackBerry 10 platform a chance.

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency recently said it would pull the plug on its contract with the beleaguered BlackBerry maker in favor of Apple's iPhone, due to its back-end management features and IT policy restrictions.
