Motorola Mobility is planning to launch a new rail thin, Android 2.3 powered smartphone MOTOLUXE in UK.
MOTOLUXE incorporates Motorola's MotoSwitch user interface, using which it learns who you talk to and which apps you use the most and puts all that information front and centre.
Motorola Mobility sold 1 million tablets in 2011 -- with only 200,000 Xooms and Xyboards sold in the fourth quarter of the year, a quarter in which the company also reported an $80-million loss.
The consumer electronics maker reported the low tablet sales and negative earnings on Thursday in its quarterly earnings report. The loss came on revenue of $3.44 billion in the fourth quarter. A year earlier, the company reported a fourth-quarter profit of $80 million on $3.43 billion in revenue.
The 4G cellular technology manufacturer Lemko Corp. yesterday sued Motorola Solutions and its lawyers, saying Motorola's claims that Lemko is allegedly part of a Chinese spy ring tied to the Chinese government and Chinese companies have unfairly damaged its business.
