Wikileaks Reveals Super Injunction Blocking Reporting On Massive Australian Corruption Case Involving Leaders Of Malaysia, Indonesia & Vietnam

Today, 29 July 2014, WikiLeaks releases an unprecedented Australian censorship order concerning a multi-million dollar corruption case explicitly naming the current and past heads of state of Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam, their relatives and other senior officials. The super-injunction invokes “national security” grounds to prevent reporting about the case, by anyone, in order to “prevent damage to Australia's international relations”.

Vimeo meets Censorship in Indonesia

Indonesia has been censoring sites that it found to be contrary to their government’s view of the world. This has led to some rather odd choices. Over the weekend the government there decided that the popular video sharing site, Vimeo, was to be added to the list of websites that should be blocked. The rationale being that this site could serve of pornography and other such things.

Indonesian hackers are targeting Australian police and other government agencies' websites as payback for spying on their president but no critical police information has been compromised.

The hacking group called BlackSinChan is reportedly acquiring and publishing encrypted passcodes of some Australian websites, leaving a message on one site "This is the payback for Spying Indonesia!"

Hackers claiming to be part of the ‘hacktivist’ collective Anonymous have responded to Edward Snowden’s latest revelations about the NSA using Australian embassies to spy in Asia – by defacing the websites of scores of small Australian businesses.

A group calling itself Anonymous Indonesia replaced the front pages of over 200 websites with the .au address and the message “Stop spying on Indonesia!,” along with a selection of images of varying offensiveness.

Indonesian hackers were crowned third-placed winners in "Capture The Flag" contest held last week in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The international hacking competition involved 10 teams from seven countries is an annual event hosted by Hack In The Box (HITB), reported news portal DetikINET. Team Vietnam lifted the trophies for first and second positions in the show which also saw participants from Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Singapore, South Korean, and Malaysia.

Indonesia Passes the US When It Comes to Attack Traffic, Akamai Says

Akamai has released its State of the Internet Report for the first quarter of 2013. It turns out that of the 177 countries monitored by the company, the most attack traffic came from China (34%).

This means China maintains its position as a leader, despite a considerable drop in the volume of attack traffic recorded in the previous quarter.

Remember Wildan Yani Ashari? The hacker who defaced the Indonesian president’s site in January. Instead of the disproportional jail time that Wildan would face, the national police hinted yesterday that they might use Wildan’s help inside the police cyber crime unit. Indonesian police claim progress in probe into Bumi computer hacking

Indonesian police expressed optimism about their investigation into the recent hacking of email accounts belonging to publicly-listed coal miner PT Bumi Resources, saying they were making further probes into the coal miner’s stolen data and any links with its business partners.

Police chief spokesman Brig. Gen. Boy Rafli Amar said here on Friday that with further investigation the police would be able to identify the hackers and bring them to the courts.
