Bug bounty hunters reveal eight vulnerabilities in Google services

Security researchers unveiled eight vulnerabilities in Google services during the Hack in the Box conference in Amsterdam on Thursday -- but they claim to have discovered more than 100 such bugs over the past few months.

The bugs they revealed were found in Google's blog platform Blogger, its Analytics service and in Google Calendar, amongst other services. The two most interesting once are the bugs found in Calendar and Analytics, said Itzhak Avraham, security researcher and founder of the Tel Aviv-based security firm Zimperium.

Researchers uncover causes of MilitarySingles.com hack

A common web application vulnerability, poor detection capabilities and a lack of adequate encryption led to the recent hack of MilitarySingles.com, according to research performed by security firm Imperva.

In March, the popular military dating site sustained a security breach carried out by hackers calling themselves "LulzSec Reborn," resulting in the dumping of personal information belonging to 170,000 members. The data included names, usernames, passwords, and IP addresses.

'We Already Have a Part of the Jailbreak for iOS 6': @Pod2g

Pod2g, also known as Cyril, reveals that the 'dream team' of iOS hackers already has part of the jailbreak for iOS 6 in an interview with Softpedia.

"We won't give up on jailbreaking iOS devices because this is too important for us and we already have a part of the jailbreak for iOS 6 and we will be ready right on time for it," Cyril said.

NASA refutes Iranian cyberattack claims

NASA, the US space agency, has denied that its website had been hacked and information stolen by a band of Iranian students that called themselves the "Cyber Warriors Team."

The group bragged in a May 16 post on Pastebin that it had hacked a NASA site and stolen the personal information of thousands of NASA researchers. The site allegedly compromised is called the Solicitation and Proposal Integrated Review and Evaluation System.

Reputed websites under hacker threat: CERT India

Websites of reputed government and private organisations are under threat from hackers, the Computer Emergency Response Team India (CERT-In) has said, warning users to be extra cautious while using the Internet.

"It is observed that some hacker groups are launching distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks on websites of government and private organisations in India. The attacks may be targeted to different websites of reputed organisations," CERT-In, the national nodal agency for responding to computer security incidents, said in an advisory on its website. 

Eurovision 2012 official websites hacked

A group of hackers calling themselves Cyberwarriors for Freedom attacked the official websites of the Eurovision song contest on Thursday, Reuters news agency said.

They are demanding that the host nation, Azerbaijan, cancel next week's competition. 

But activist groups advocating a broad spectrum of issues - from human rights to religion - have also sought to seize the occasion to draw attention to their campaigns. In an Azeri-language message on the affected websites, the little-known hacker group demanded President Ilham Aliyev cancel the event altogether.

Hackers break into Azerbaijan Eurovision websites

A group of hackers calling themselves Cyberwarriors for Freedom attacked the official websites of the Eurovision song contest on Thursday, demanding that the host nation, Azerbaijan, cancel next week's competition.

Azerbaijan, a mainly Muslim ex-Soviet republic, won the right to host the contest by winning last year's event in Germany, and sees the competition as a chance to showcase the country. The grand final is scheduled for May 26.

The Pirate Bay Confirms Anonymous Is Not Behind Attack

Yesterday we revealed that The Pirate Bay was being targeted by a distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attack that disrupted the site’s activity in a number of locations worldwide. As we suspected, Anonymous didn’t have anything to do with the attack.

“YES The Pirate Bay is down. YES it's under DDoS attack. NO we don't know who from. We'll update as we hear more,” read a tweet posted on YourAnonNews.
