"Best Hacker in the World" Leaks Account Details of 1 Million American Users

A hacker that goes by the name of Hannibal, previously known for leaking the Facebook accounts of one million Arabs, claims to have published the details of one million Americans in response to Anonymous’ OpIsrael.

“Lately, Anonymous Group attacked for no reason Israeli websites and stuff. Do you want to play with me, Anonymous Group? Do you have forgotten that Israel stands alongside the world’s best hacker – Hannibal??? Who the hell you think you are?” he said in a statement obtained by CWN.

Hackers take over Israel minister's Twitter account

An Israeli cabinet minister's Twitter account was hacked by a pro-Palestinian outfit which posted messages in his name calling Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a "murdering psychopath".

The string of tweets on the page belonging to Vice Prime Minister Silvan Shalom included messages reading: "FREE PALESTINE! END THE OCCUPATION! STOP THE MURDER OF PALESTINIANS NOW!"

Anonymous targets Israeli sites, offers Gazans internet help

Anonymous hacktivists have united to stand with Gaza after Israeli forces on Wednesday launched a military operation against the Palestinian enclave.

The latest attacks in a decades-old Israeli blockade have resulted in more than 20 deaths on both sides, according to news reports, including a number of Palestinian civilians, such as the 11-month-old son of a BBC journalist.

BitTorrent Trackers Disrupted by DDOS Attacks Launched by Unhappy Hacker

A number of seven popular private BitTorrent trackers have been disrupted by distributed denial-of-service attacks launched against them. A hacker called Zeiko Anonymous has taken credit for the attacks.

The targets are IPTorrents, PassThePopcorn.me, Broadcasthe.net, HDBits, What.cd, The Vault and SceneAccess, TorrentFreak informs.

On November 9, the attacker became displeased with the fact that What.cd hadn’t given him an invite, so he attempted to persuade them by attacking the site.

In the annals of what-was-I-thinking moments in computer security, this has to be one of the most gobsmacking.

According to a Bloomberg News investigation of a series of undisclosed corporate data breaches, Coca-Cola was deeply penetrated by hackers in 2009 in what started with an e-mail with this subject line:

    “Save power is save money! (from CEO)”

The message landed in executive Paul Etchells’s inbox on Feb. 16, 2009, according to a document obtained by Bloomberg.

After a persistent series of attacks on its government computers by a Russian hacker, the Republic of Georgia got mad and refused to take it anymore.

In a reversal of roles, members of the country's Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) suckered the cybermiscreant into downloading a file infected with his own spyware that allowed CERT to photograph the alleged hacker with his computer's webcam and ransack its hard drive for files.

Hackers from Goatse Security – the ones who claimed to have breached the official website of Oprah Winfrey around one week ago – say they’ve stolen “valuable information” from the systems of BillaBong, a popular casual clothing and sportswear manufacturer.

“We goatsesec hold valuable information from the Billabong database, we recently accessed the database from a PHP security flaw and figured that we'd exploit it,” the hackers wrote.
