Apple's $1,000 iPhone X may have trouble operating in the winter weather.

This is according to multiple complaints from owners and an admission from the Cupertino idiot-tax operation itself that, in cold temperatures, the OLED touchscreen on the shiny new handsets can become temporarily unresponsive.

We're told that, when taking an iPhone X outside in chilly weather, folks found the expensive mobe struggled to notice finger swipes and gestures. One might say, you're colding it wrong.

The removal of the home button on the iPhone X is a bold decision by Apple, but some customers may find themselves pining for the way things once were. Thankfully, the home button is not gone entirely, as iOS allows you to add a customizable virtual one to your screen. AppleInsider explains how to do it.

AssistiveTouch is nothing new in iOS, and many users have taken advantage of this accessibility feature for years. But AssistiveTouch takes on a new role in the iPhone X, which lacks a home button in favor of a gesture-based home bar.

We Tried Really Hard To Beat Face ID—and Failed (So Far)

When Apple announced the iPhone X last month—its all-screen, home-button-less, unlock-with-a-look flagship—it placed an enormous bet on facial recognition as the future of authentication. For hackers around the world, Face ID practically painted a glowing target on the phone: How hard could it be, after all, to reproduce a person's face—which sits out in public for everyone to see—and use it to bypass the device's nearly unbreakable encryption without leaving a trace?

Some people expecting to buy an iPhone X in San Francisco on Friday may be disappointed, as 313 units were stolen from a local UPS truck earlier this week.

The truck was delivering the iPhones to Apple Stonestown on Wednesday, CNET noted, citing a police report and TV station KTSF. The break-in is said to have been committed by three "husky" men driving a white Dodge van, between 11:15 and 11:30 a.m.

The Apple iPhone X was probably one of the worst-kept secrets when it comes to smartphones this year. Months prior to its release, we were treated to leaked renders, photos, and even dummy models of handsets that were identical to what was shown off at Apple's September event. While there were plenty of rumors, it appears that Apple never planned to add a fingerprint reader to the handset, instead, betting all its chips on the Face ID technology.

How do you show off the most anticipated product in years? That was my dilemma with the iPhone X. Since my unit was one of the first few released into the wild, it naturally drew a lot of curiosity when I pulled it out of my pocket and gave it a dewy-eyed glance to wake it from slumber. Yes, this is the one—the iPhone that will hasten millions of upgrades, the one that’s made you ignore the hardly-knew-ye iPhone 8, announced on the same day as this one.

Apple's Face ID, a facial recognition system where users simply look at their phone to unlock it, could be headed to the next iPad Pro lineup, 9to5Mac and MacRumors report.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reportedly expects the TrueDepth camera system, which enables Face ID on the iPhone X, to be available in the next iPad Pro upgrade. Having Face ID in the iPad Pro could increase adoption, Kue also reportedly said, but he didn't say what would happen with the Home button or Touch ID, which are available in the current tablets.
