Jailbreaking the iPhone has always been crucial, giving you access to a whole set of features, allowing you to install tons of useful apps which otherwise wouldn’t have been possible, and most importantly, it also allows you to unlock your phone so that you can use it with any carrier. Apple of course patches all these loopholes in every new version of its OS which makes jailbreaking harder. Apple offers fixes for iPad's Wi-Fi woes

Apple is acknowledging complaints that its new iPad computer has trouble connecting to the Internet. And it's offering some possible solutions.

"Under certain conditions, iPad may not automatically rejoin a known Wi-Fi network after restart or waking from sleep," Apple said in a post on its technical support site late Tuesday.

The post came after a day in which a growing number of people who bought the computer over the weekend said they weren't able to get a Wi-Fi connection or that the connection kept getting dropped.

Users who rushed to snap up Apple's iPad are complaining within days of the slate computer's highly anticipated release that they're having trouble connecting it to the Internet.

On Apple's technical support Web site, there were 11 pages of comments Tuesday morning on a post saying Wi-Fi connections were weak or kept cutting out.

iPad tops 300,000 sales in first day

Apple is reporting upwards of 300,000 iPads sold on the tablet system's first day of availability.

The company said that the US release of the Wi-Fi enabled tablet was able to reach the milestone in its first day. Many users lined up outside of Apple stores in major cities, a scene reminiscent of the 2007 debut of the iPhone.

According to Taiwanese blog Apple Daily, Cupertino is hard at work on its next-generation MacBooks. Originally planned for March, the site reports that Apple delayed the refresh due to short supply of mobile Core i5 processors, and it now intends to launch the new notebooks this month.

Apple on Monday announced that it will formally introduce the next version of its mobile operating system, iPhone OS 4.0, at a special event scheduled for this week, April 8.

Apple sent out invitations on Monday for the event, scheduled for 10 a.m. Pacific, offering a "sneak peek of the next generation of iPhone software," according to Engadget. The event will be held at the company's Cupertino, Calif., campus.

Thousands of people emerged from stores across the United States on Saturday clutching newly purchased iPads, the tabletlike computer that's Apple's most-awaited product since the first iPhone launched three years ago.

Some buyers said they wanted a lightweight computer they could carry around easily or use from their couch, while others were diehard Apple fans who said they were eager to possess the company's latest gadget -- even if they're not sure what they'll use it for.

iPad hacked to run Newton OS

As the iPad rolls out across the United States on Saturday, one developer appears to have gone rogue already. Jonathan E. Vi, one of the few developers to actually get an iPad in advance of the launch, has rigged it to run Apple's old Newton personal data assistant from the '90s. Fire up the Newton emulator app, and the iPad's screen changes to that muted green color with dim gray text and the old Mac fonts.

Apple's iPad App Store now accessible through iTunes

App Store software that will be available for download for Apple's iPad when it launches in the U.S. on Saturday can now be viewed through the iTunes Store via the desktop client.

Apple has said more than 1,000 iPad-specific applications will be available for download when the new hardware goes on sale April 3. A search for the terms "iPad," "HD" or "XL" in the iTunes Store gives users an option to narrow their search to iPad-only applications.
