Four Anons cuffed in Italy

Four individuals accused of being members of Anonymous and participating in “Operation Tango Down” have been arrested in Italy.

According to AFP, the four are being accused of various attacks in Italy, including a DDoS against the Vatican and the parliamentary Website.

The Postal Police – responsible for enforcement of communications law – carried out 12 raids across Italy, according to this report in Gazetta del Sud.

DHS Says OpUSA Will Mostly Consist of Nuisance-Level Attacks

Several hacktivist groups are planning to launch attacks against the government agencies and other organizations from the US. The campaign has been dubbed “OpUSA” and it is scheduled to take place on May 7.

Several websites have already been breached, and some of the participating collectives have released threatening statements.

While the hackers prepare for the operation, the United States’ Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has created a confidential note to help the agency’s partners in taking measures against the attacks.

Reuters fires social media editor after Anonymous hacking probe

News agency Thomson Reuters has fired Matthew Keys a month after federal prosecutors accused the social media editor of conspiring with the hacktivist group Anonymous to break into the Los Angeles Times Web site.

Keys announced the development Monday morning on his Twitter account, saying he had just learned of his dismissal and that his union would file a grievance:

International hacktivist group Anonymous is looking to go legit – at least with the way it looks to share news and information. The controversial hacking collective has launched a website for crowd-sourced news.

The group has announced Your Anon News (or YAN), named after the group’s Twitter handle. The news venture looks to move some of the group’s content away from its Twitter and Tumblr feeds, where Anonymous has traditionally made announcements and linked to articles.

Hackers attack Israel, but damage 'minimal'

Hackers have launched an assault on Israeli websites, but the damage has been minimal as the Jewish state is prepared to fend off such attacks, one of the country's top cyber experts said on Sunday.

The hackers associated with the activist group Anonymous reportedly hit the websites of the premier's office, the defence ministry, the education ministry and the Central Bureau of Statistics, among others, but all appeared to be running normally.

Anonymous 'hacks' North Korea website and Twitter account

Hactivist group Anonymous has apparently hacked at least two of North Korea's government-run online sites yesterday, as tensions rose on the Korean Peninsula.

The North's Uriminzokkiri Twitter and Flickr accounts stopped sending out content typical of that posted by the regime in Pyongyang, such as photos of North's leader Kim Jong Un meeting military officials.

Anonymous threatens cyberwar on North Korea, steals 15,000 passwords

Hacker, or hackers, purporting to be part of the Anonymous group claim to have got their hands on more than 15,000 passwords belonging to users of Uriminzokkiri.com, one of North Korea’s primary sites on the Internet.

An anonymously written note – first spotted by the North Korea Tech blog — makes the claim, and discloses what are said to be six sample user records for the site, which is run out of China.

Another Anonymous Hacker Not So Anonymous Anymore

Authorities have arrested a man in Wisconsin that has been allegedly connected to the infamous hacking group Anonymous.

Officials say Eric J. Rosol, 37, participated in Anonymous’ take down of Koch Industries’ website during protests in the Wisconsin capital in 2011, including www.kochind.com and www.quiltednorthern.com on February 27 and 28 in 2011.

Did Anonymous Hack Israel's Mossad Spy Agency?

The hackivists at Anonymous, along with Turkish and other hackers, are claiming they hacked into Israel‘s Mossad spy agency. More specifically, Turkish group Red Hack claims to have stolen the names, locations, phone numbers and email addresses of 30,000 Mossad agents, while Sector 404 launched a distributed denial of service (DDOS) to paralyze Mossad’s Web site.
