Hack In The Box announces key speakers ahead of HITB+CyberWeek 2021, brought by DisruptAD
International speakers and subject matter experts will come together in Abu Dhabi to solve tomorrow’s cyber security problems, today
Abu Dhabi, November 18 2021: Hack In The Box (HITB), a cutting-edge platform for technical talks and trainings in cyber security, is once again bringing the world’s best cyber security experts together for the annual HITB+CyberWeek 2021, which is taking place from 21-25 November at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). HITB+CyberWeek 2021 is brought by DisruptAD, ADQ’s venture platform that connects pioneering, visionary, and entrepreneurial minds to displace the norm and scale globally from Abu Dhabi. The event will host a reputable panel of international experts to explore the industry’s evolving landscape under the four pillars of Hacking, Making, Building, and Breaking.

HITB+CyberWeek 2021 Preview
HITB+CyberWeek 2021 will feature more than 50 of the world’s most knowledgeable subject matter experts as they share their ideas and techniques over two days from 24-25 November at the HITB Security Conference. H.E. Faisal Al Bannai, CEO and Managing Director at EDGE, will launch proceedings on November 24 with a welcome address, followed by H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Government’s Head of Cyber Security, who will deliver an opening keynote speech.
The strong agenda will continue with two international keynote speakers, Matt Johnson, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Ledger, and Chema Alonso, Hacker, Cybersecurity Expert and Chief Digital Officer at Telefónica. Matt Johnson’s ‘Alt-Payments and Crypto: The Future is Now’ segment will shed light on international crypto ecosystems, the latest perspectives, and some of the challenges these ecosystems are creating for individual and institutional investors. Meanwhile, Chema Alonso’s ‘Gremlin Apps & Gremlin Botnets’ keynote will explore the ease and complexities associated with creating gremlin botnets and controlling gremlin applications. The discussion will explore several specific topics, including their importance for performing advanced persistent threats (APTs) against selected targets by transforming single applications.
Furthermore, the HITB Security Conference will welcome a multitude of main track speakers, including Ben Nassi, Security Researcher at Ben Gurion University. As part of his ‘Electro-optical Sound Eavesdropping speech, he will discuss how eavesdroppers can convert light to sound passively, externally, and in real-time to recover speech from physical and virtual conversations by analysing optical measurements obtained via telescope-mounted electro-optical sensors.
HITB+CyberWeek 2021 combines the HITB Security Conference (with some sessions open to the public) and paid trainings for security professionals. Attendees can also gain in-person access to exclusive content and on-site security contests. Our world has changed and so has HITB, with this year’s hybrid event combining live streaming for virtual attendees from around the world with the physical stage at ADNEC for in-person attendees.
