Chromium-Based Microsoft Edge Added to Windows 10 Sandbox
With Windows enthusiasts awaiting the public release of the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser, Microsoft reportedly made it available in an unlikely place. According to reports, some users of Windows 10 Insider build 18865 have found that Microsoft is testing the Edge Insider build withing the Windows Sandbox feature.
Windows Sandbox is a new feature that was added to Windows 10 build 1903 (19H1) that allows users to execute programs in a sandboxed environment that has no affect on your normal system. This allows users to test applications to make sure they do not perform unwanted activity before being allowed on the normal Windows install.
According to deskmodder.de, there are reports that some Windows Insiders are being added to a test that installs Microsoft Edge Insider version 75.0.111.0 in the Windows Sandbox as shown below. As you can see from the image, this browser is the Chromium-based insider build.
