Wells Fargo customers from all over the U.S. have been reporting that multiple services offered by the multinational financial services company's banking branch, with credit cards, ATMs, money transfers, and the online banking system all being down for most clients.

The issues are the direct consequence "of a fire at a server farm located in Shoreview, Minnesota. As a result of the fire the servers had to be shut down," reported KULR-TV Montana citing a bank employee.

Another employee disclosed on Reddit, seven hours ago, that "Fire suppression went off in one of their main Data Centres from some utility work this morning. No power to any of the network or compute equipment and some failovers did not work as expected. [...] for those interested the last I heard (15-20 min ago) was that everything minus core network gear was manually being unplugged from any PDUs to help the control the initial power-on. No ETA on when that will be finished, let alone when things will be back up." (h/t Bill Curnow)
