Incidences of a virus that hi-jacks a user's PC and redirects them to a fake banking web site has increased tenfold, with 3.3 million attacks in the past month, ccording to new research.
Barclays' and Bank of Scotland's websites are the most recent banks to have come under attack from the Troj/BankAsh-A virus. This redirects the unwitting user to a fake version of their bank's web site where their log in details are then stolen.

The portal Lycos UK has tracked a ten-fold rise in the virus. In April 2005, it tracked and stopped 3.3 million incidents of the virus software in email, up from the 39,789 stopped in March.
