It started back in August of 1999, a small and relatively harmless little virus named w32.Kriz started affecting MS
Windows Operating systems. Kriz, named after Jolly Ole Saint Nick, remains inactive 364 days out of the year. Though
now it's time for alot of users to be worried as this bad boy is set to strike on December 25th.

The virus has a dangerous payload that triggers on December 25th of any year. The
payload is designed to overwrite files on the floppy disk drive, hard drive, RAM drive, and
network drives. It also clears the information stored on the BIOS. This payload is similar
to the W95.CIH virus.

Check out the story here, and Symantecs info on the virus here.

Make sure you have updated your virus definitions.
