SSH Communications Security (HEX:SSH1V), a world-leading developer of Internet security solutions, today announced the immediate availability of SSH Secure Shell Toolkit 3.0. SSH Secure Shell Toolkit provides developers with the tools for integrating Secure Shell protocol into their new or existing network equipment and software products. SSH's award winning developer security toolkits are built on established, standardized cryptographic algorithms and protocols, providing OEMs and system integrators with an easy-to-implement, high performance security solution.

Based on the award-winning SSH Secure Shell technology, SSH Secure Shell Toolkit 3.0 gives OEMs and IT developers the tools they need to ensure that their end users have transparent, strong security over any IP based client/server connection, including secure terminal sessions and secure file transfers. With support for WindRiver VxWorks® 5.4, the most widely adopted real-time operating system (RTOS) in the industry, the SSH Secure Shell Toolkit now makes replacing insecure telnet and ftp based administration and configuration of network equipment with the Secure Shell protocol faster and easier. Additionally, OEMs and developers can license the fully integrated SSH Certificate Toolkit to support PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) functionality for utilizing and managing X.509 certificates within their SSH Secure Shell application.

According to George Adams, president and CEO of SSH, Inc., "When network equipment vendors and software OEMs want to add security features into their products, they always want to be able to integrate, customize and deploy the new technologies quickly and easily. Our newest SSH Secure Shell Toolkit gives OEMs secure administration and configuration capability for routers through secured terminal and ftp connections. In addition, the optional advanced PKI features offer OEMs flexibility for strong embedded certificate based authentication.
