Sony releases PS3 Update 3.56 - Death To Homebrew

Sony released the PS3 Update 3.56 last night. This update eventually did not add any new functions to the user’s ability to do more things; this update is a security patch that actually inhibits “hacker” communities from using the widely available, “jailbreak” to break into the PS3. The PS3 Update 3.56 is said to “kill” the custom firmware.

From what has been reported via the “hacking” custom firmware community, people that want to keep their “homebrew” may not want to download the PS3 Update 3.56. Sony may have put a slight damper on the “hacker” community.

The bottom line is, if the gamer downloads and installs the new PS3 Update 3.56 and they happen to be using “jailbreak” or other custom firmware, let us just say, they won’t be any longer.
