Skype update for Mac adds Lion support, HD calls

Microsoft-borged Skype says it has outed a new version of Skype for Apple's OSX that will support the weird new Lion update as well as allow Macintoshers to make HD Video Calls

Skype 5.3 for Mac OS X also includes a number of fixes and improvements to the user interface, the outfit said. The update is reckoned to be backwards compatible with past versions of OS X, back as far as Leopard.

Skype reckons the update will enable users to make HD quality video calls if they have an upload/download speed of 1.5Mbps, which cuts out most of the online planet, even if that does happen to be somewhere near what your ISP claims to provide.
