Wanted: More hackers for the Russian criminal underworld.
Faced with boosted cybersecurity defenses at banks, top Russian-speaking cybercriminals are opening their ranks in a way not previously seen, according to a new report from RSA, the security division of EMC.
The Russian-speaking world is home to numerous cybercrime rings. In the past, its leaders would only work with people based on the assumption they had some illegal chops. In short, would-be fraudsters needed digital street cred. That’s starting to change, said Limor Kessem, a cybercrime specialist for RSA based in Herzliya, Israel, just north of Tel Aviv.
