Pixel 2 XL Fingerprint Sensor Issues Reported After Android 8.1 Update

It hasn’t been long since Google started rolling out Android 8.1 for the Pixel and Nexus devices. It seems that there are still a couple of bugs that should have been addressed before the firmware was sent out the door. Some Pixel 2 XL owners have taken to Google’s official support forum to complain about a slowdown in the performance of the handset’s fingerprint sensor after updating it to Android 8.1.

It was also reported earlier this week that some Pixel owners were reporting multi-touch issues after updating their handsets to Android 8.1. No new update has since been rolled out to address those issues and now we’re hearing about speed issues with the Pixel 2 XL’s fingerprint sensor.

Many Pixel 2 XL owners have complained on the official forum about the slowdown in the fingerprint sensor’s performance after updating to Android 8.1 compared to Android 8.0. It’s unclear what’s causing this but it could be a bug in the software.
