Most of the attention in the tech world these days seems to have settled on next-generation Apple devices, the iPhone 5 and the iPad 2 and we’ve recently posted about rumored release dates which you can check out at the links.
We’ve also posted a rumor about both devices maybe having an A5 chip and also the first tip-offs that there may be a new processor. Now we have more news as an article over on Apple Insider reports that a hacker has come across evidence that the next iPhone and iPad, will have Qualcomm baseband.
It’s claimed that Zibri, an Italian hacker, took apart the last version of iTunes and obtained a code, which was published on his blog. The blog post stats that this is a “definitive answer” to previous rumors of Qualcomm baseband for the upcoming devices. Zibri stated that certain files in the code that was obtained “are the building blocks of any Qualcomm baseband.” Zibri then added that the next iProducts would have this baseband.
