iOS 4.3.1 Early Hands On: Improved Battery Life?
iOS 4.3.1 is expected to roll out in the coming weeks but that hasn't stopped the update from leaking prematurely to a handful of developers and media outlets. BGR for one has just reported that one of their Apple connects have installed iOS 4.3.1 to their iPhone and are spilling the beans on what we can expect.
As previously assumed, the iOS 4.3.1 update is a minor one designed mainly to squash some bugs. However BGR reports that their initial hands on hints improved battery life, although they advise its not been taken to the lab yet and confirmed.
Other iOS 4.3.1 features include: Baseband updates for the 3GS and iPad (original); Fixed memory hang that results in memory corruption when reading large files from USIM filesystem; Fixed problem with NTLM authentication in apps and on websites; Fixed iPad 2 jailbreak vulnerability; and fixed issue with the Springboard and 3rd party apps not recognizing the gyroscope on the iPad 2.
