#HITBSecNews - The Revolution Begins 1st June 2011
5 years has passed (well more like 5 and a 1/2) since our last HITB site makeover aka HITB Reloaded back in 2005 and we're well overdue for the next iteration aka HITB Revolutions!
In 2005 we migrated the main HITB Portal (www.hackinthebox.org) from Thatware (pretty much one of the very first PHP based content management systems) to PostNuke and beginning 0900 CET on Tuesday, the 31st of May 2011, hackinthebox.org and hitb.org will once again be down for content migration and syncing! 24 hours later, on the 1st June at 0900 CET, we will hopefully be back online with a brand new navigation page which will link you to the different HITB portals and networks... - HITBSecNews - http://news.hitb.org (also accessible on http://news.hitb.nl and http://news.hitb.in)
The all new HITB news site is powered by Drupal 7 and features full social media integration, allowing you to link your HITB account with your Facebook or Twitter identity or to use your pre-existing login credentials to sign in to comment on articles and stories. In addition to supporting Facebook and Twitter users, we also support account linking with LinkedIn, Yahoo and MSN! Not using one of the above services? No worries, you can still register for an account via the traditional sign up form.

All currently registered users on the HITB Portal (www.hackinthebox.org) will need to re-sign up for a new account on news.hitb.org. Any inter-user messages or personal URLs / bookmarks in your account will be removed on the 30th of May so please arrange to back these up before then. Your account details on HITBSecForums (forum.hitb.org) and all other HITB sites will be unaffected by this migration.
WIthout a doubt we anticipate that there will be some teething issues with the new SecNews installation (hopefully nothing major) and we aim to iron out any bugs we find as we go along. If you encounter problems or issues with the new site (signing up, signing in, commenting on articles, social media integration etc) please do send us an email (hackinthebox@hackinthebox.org).
