#HITB2012KUL Hacker Charity Auction Raises Funds for Needy Cancer Patients
With less than a week to go, the HITB team has been ramping up its preparations for HITBSecConf2012 - Malaysia, the 10th year anniversary of the HITBSecConf series.
To celebrate this decade of security conferences and hacker meetups, HITB is welcoming back on stage over 42 of it’s most popular speakers and with this year’s theme of celebrating 10 years of hacking history, it is only fitting that the conference ends with a chance to take home a piece of hacker memorabilia. The HITB Charity Auction returns this year to close the conference on the evening of the 11th of October with an impressive range of items going under the hammer.
The auction is open to the public and takes place in the Ballroom of The InterContinental Kuala Lumpur on the 11th of October at 18:30. Proceedings of the auction will be streamed live and remote bidding via Skype (Username: HITBCharityAuction)
Up for bidding is a Microsoft XBox 360 250GB console complete with a one-of-a-kind #HITB2012KUL design, donated and customised by Microsoft. Apple iOS themed items also feature prominently such as a Chronic-Dev Team iDevice serial cable with letter of authenticity as well as iPad and iPhone 4/4s covers autographed by all members of the Chronic-Dev Team. Other auction items include an autographed copy of Bruce Schneier’s latest book, Liars & Outliers, HITB Auctioneer and founder of Zone-H, Roberto Preatoni’s arrest warrant plus iconic t-shirts from The Pirate Bay, L0pht and other hacker collectibles.
