Hack in the Box 2012 Kuala Lumpur, programmed to take place between October 8 and October 11, will host many interesting activities. Among them, there is the enhanced version of the classic Capture the Flag (CTF) competition.

This year, a number of 10 teams – each made of 3 members - from all over Asia will go head to head in a 32-hour battle called “the Fallout Apocalypse.”

Because attacks on nuclear power plants are the latest trend, the contestants main goal will be to attack their rivals’ facilities while defending their own. Each of the seven reactor cores they manage represents a source of income.

However, this money generator is actually a vulnerable service that can be breached. The goal will be to hack into rivals’ plants and disrupt the core reactors in order to prevent them from making a profit.  To allow spectators to feel the tension from the battlefield, an animated world map will be utilized to visualize the attacks and other main events.
