Hacker conference Hack in the Box (HITB) returns to Kuala Lumpur this October 13-14. An impressive array of speakers will be on hand, kicking off with keynote speakers Chris Wysopal and Paul Vixie. To find out what is in store for attendees, The Malaysian Insider had a quick chat with both speakers on the state of security today.

Currently CTO of security company Veracode, Wysopal is perhaps most known for being part of grey hat (benevolent) hacker group L0pht. He was among the eight L0pht members called to the US Senate to testify on the then-state of Internet security in 1998.

Vixie has equally impressive credentials, being the founder and president of the Internet Systems Consortium, a non-profit dedicated to “developing and maintaining production quality open source reference implementations of core Internet protocols”. He has also developed key Unix protocols still in use today.
