Hackers 'selling fake anti-malware'
Hackers will become more sophisticated in their attempts to defraud customers by selling them fake anti-malware, experts predict.
Software solutions firm ESET says that there will be an increasing volume of sham websites used by cyber criminals to trick consumers into buying imitation anti-virus software.
David Harley, director of malware intelligence at ESET says that hackers are only taking customers' money in exchange for software which does not perform any function, but that in future they may begin to install fake products which include spyware and adware. "Some of the major anti-virus companies have seen their websites spoofed over the last couple of months," confirms Mr Harley.
